Eurocamp offer self-catering holidays in 8 European countries, with accommodation including tents, mobile homes and lodges.
All Eurocamp accommodation is self-catering, so your kitchen will have essential utensils and crockery for cooking. Bed linen packs are available to hire at all campsites but pre-booking is essential.
Both the Azure and Esprit mobile homes offer wheelchair adapted options.
There can be a mixture of plug sockets, so we recommend you take some plug adapters. These can be purchases at airports, ports and in some supermarkets and chemists.
British and Irish citizens are required to have a full (10 year) passport to travel abroad. Application forms are available from the Passport Office, the post office or from the Garda (in Ireland). If you are applying for a passport for the first time, you should do this at least six weeks before your holiday.
You should plan to arrive between 3pm and 8pm, although some campsites (particularly those in Italy) close for a siesta between 12pm and 3pm, so you can’t arrive till after 4pm. Please check when booking.
Many people choose to drive to campsites on the continent, and you can cross the English Channel either by ferry or on the Euro Tunnel train. Eurocamp can book these crossings alongside your accommodation. Just call 01606 787125 if you need any help. Alternatively, you may wish to fly (and Eurocamp can also arrange flights!) and arrange an airport transfer to your chosen campsite. Eurocamp work in partnership with Holiday Taxis, who can organise a transfer for you.
Let your car insurance know that you’re travelling abroad and perform any maintenance checks needed (check tyre tread and pressure, top up oil and water etc.). You will need to buy a headlight adaptor kit to drive on the Continent – these stick over part of your headlight to avoid blinding other drivers when you’re driving on the right. It is compulsory to carry a warning triangle if you are driving in Europe in case of a breakdown or accident. This must be placed 30 metres from the car to warn oncoming traffic. In Spain you also need to place a triangle in front of the car. Hi-vis jackets for all car occupants are legally required in France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, It is also compulsory to carry a breathalyzer kit in France, and single use kits can be bought at ports.
