The North of England is home to the spectacular Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the wild and spectacular coastline of Northumbria. Add in historic castles, the beautiful university town of Durham and pretty villages all around and you’ve got a region which is packed with fantastic family days out. And glamping allows you to explore fully, while still having a wonderfully comfortable base to come back to at the end of the day.
The Lake District is world famous for its stunning lakes, dramatic hills and beautiful countryside. Kids will love going out on the lakes – take a boat trip, try your hand at kayaking or simply spend a day skimming stones along the shoreline. Equally dramatic are the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors, where you can take long walks before refuelling at one of the lovely local pubs or cafes.
There are also plenty of beaches to explore – enjoy some iconic fish and chips at Whitby in Yorkshire or explore the sand dunes before a visit to Banburgh Castle in Northumberland. On the west coast, enjoy a fantastic day out at Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach with plenty of rides to keep thrill seekers happy! You’ve also got fantastic cities including Manchester and Newcastle with museums and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Glamping allows you to make the most of the North of England and the amazing landscape by putting you right in the centre of it. Our recommended glamping companies – Ready Camp, CoolStays and Canopy and Stars offer all the luxuries of home with little extras thrown in to create special family holidays.
