Suncamp Holidays have campsites in a larger number of European countries than any other company and offer the option to hire a camping pitch for your own tent or caravan. They also have a great range of accommodation in the form of equipped tents, mobile homes, bungalows and chalets. At many of the sites, you’ll also find Suncamp’s own accommodation in the form of ‘SunLodge’. You can choose from luxurious mobile homes or spacious tents – all of which are fully equipped with bathrooms, kitchens and utensils, comfy beds and a host of useful extras.
Entertainment programmes are organised on many of Suncamp Holidays’ sites during high season. You’ll find activities such as discos, cabaret, bingo, boules and films, with plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Some sites also have kids’ clubs and crèches, but do check before booking.
You’ll also find a huge range of onsite facilities. All sites have a pool or are next door to a beach, meaning that water babies are well catered for! All Suncamp accommodation is self-catering, so your kitchen will have essential utensils and crockery for cooking. Bed linen packs are available to hire at all campsites but pre-booking is essential.

There can be a mixture of plug sockets, so we recommend you take some plug adapters. These can be purchases at airports, ports and in some supermarkets and chemists.
British and Irish citizens are required to have a full (10 year) passport to travel abroad. Application forms are available from the Passport Office, the post office or from the Garda (in Ireland). If you are applying for a passport for the first time, you should do this at least six weeks before your holiday.
You should plan to arrive between 4pm and 7pm, although your travel documents will indicate what time you can arrive from. Check out is usually between 8am and 10am.
Many people choose to drive to campsites on the continent, and you can cross the English Channel either by ferry or on the Euro Tunnel train. Alternatively, you could fly to your destination and then hire a car to travel to your chosen campsite.
Let your car insurance know that you’re travelling abroad and perform any maintenance checks needed (check tyre tread and pressure, top up oil and water etc.). You will need to buy a headlight adaptor kit to drive on the Continent – these stick over part of your headlight to avoid blinding other drivers when you’re driving on the right. It is compulsory to carry a warning triangle if you are driving in Europe in case of a breakdown or accident. This must be placed 30 metres from the car to warn oncoming traffic. In Spain you also need to place a triangle in front of the car. Hi-vis jackets for all car occupants are legally required in France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, It is also compulsory to carry a breathalyzer kit in France, and single use kits can be bought at ports.
