Elm Cottage
Set in the pretty village of Tregony, just 9 miles from Cornwall’s main town of Truro, Elm Cottage offers a well-equipped tranquil base that’s ideal for families with small children. It’s also ideal for wheelchair users, as it’s single storey and pets are welcome. Kids will love the bunk beds (a cot and high chair are also available on request) and there’s a lovely private and enclosed garden. Nearby are several safe, sandy beaches and the world famous Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the National Maritime Museum of Falmouth are all within 10 miles.

Elderbeck Lodge
This contemporary property is located in a family-friendly holiday park, less than a mile from Pooley Bridge in the stunning Lake District. The site has spectacular views of Lake Ullswater and sleeps up to 6 people. Kids are sure to love the upside down formation of the house, with bedrooms on the ground floor and a heated terrace upstairs that makes the most of the views. During summer season there’s a children’s club, children’s discos, live entertainment, a bar and a restaurant with take away service. Situated in The Bay coastal holiday village, this nautical inspired lodge is close to the seaside town of Filey, Yorkshire. The open plan layout of the single story home is bright and airy, with a fun seaside theme throughout the property. There’s a beautiful Blue Flag beach just a short stroll away, perfect for crabbing in the rock pools. On site you’ll find a fantastic indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room and you can also try your hand at tennis, hire a bike or go fishing in one of the two lakes.

This fabulous brick barn conversion is on the outskirts of the village of Sowerby and is close to the pretty town of Thirsk and the stunning North Yorkshire Moors. There are three spacious bedrooms, an open plan living room with wood burner and a host of modern creature comforts. Kids will love the nearby James Herriot Museum in Thirsk or exploring the North Yorkshire Moors with its excellent walking and cycling opportunities. The beautiful east coast is also just a short driving distance away.

The Old Smithy
Set in the pretty Derbyshire village of Hillington, this lovely semi-detached barn conversion has open living throughout. There’s a pretty garden with furniture, overlooking the owner’s field complete with friendly pet sheep! The area provides numerous walks, cycling and fishing opportunities throughout some of the most scenic countryside in the Peak District. And, best of all for the kids, Alton Towers is only a 25-minute drive away!

This gorgeous cottage is situated on the banks of the Exe estuary in the pretty village of Lympstone and is a short drive to the lovely sandy beach at Exmouth. Relax in the smart sitting room with its beautiful views and get a restful night’s sleep in the peaceful bedrooms. Exmouth beach has dog friendly parts all year round and offers a myriad of water sports for the adventurous families. Nearby is Crealy family theme park and Lympstone Manor with its exceptional vineyard


Important things to know before you travel

What furnishings and equipment will the cottage have?
Whilst exact furnishings and equipment vary from cottage to cottage, all will have kitchens will all the utensils and appliances you need for every day use, well-furnished sitting rooms, dining tables and at least one colour TV. Exact specifications can be found under the ‘Amenities’ section of the property description. Most cottages provide linen in the rental prices but you should bring your own towels and tea towels unless otherwise stated.

What are the arrival and departure times at Sykes Cottages?
Most lettings commence at 3pm on the first day of your holiday and end at 10am on the day of your departure. The owner / caretaker will discuss the time of arrival and key collection details.

Are pets allowed at Sykes Cottages?
Pets are allowed in many of the cottages – please check the ‘Amenities’ section of the property description. Registered assistance dogs are allowed in all properties listed on the website.

Are fuel, power, heating and electricity included in the price?
Most of the properties include fuel and power in the rental prices. Some may have a coin meter or charge based on a meter reading at the end of your stay. Unless highlighted in the property description, electricity and heating are always included in the rental cost. Where an open fire / wood burner is available the Homeowner may provide a starter pack of fuel.

Are the cottages wheelchair friendly?
Sykes Cottages have many accessible single storey properties, meaning that wheelchair users should be able to find a perfect place to rent in any location.
