Then why not stay at Campsite Sikia, situated on the beautiful Aegean coast of Greece and with direct access to a lovely child friendly beach. Or take a trip to the pretty island of Corsica with a stay at Camping Marina d’Aléria, positioned right by the beach in a protected area full of pine and eucalyptus trees. Theme park fans will love Duinrell campsite, with its own onsite theme park and water park. Suncamp Holidays have campsites in a larger number of European countries than any other company and offer the option to hire a camping pitch for your own tent or caravan. They also have a great range of accommodation in the form of equipped tents, mobile homes, bungalows and chalets. At many of the sites, you’ll also find Suncamp’s own accommodation in the form of ‘SunLodge’. You can choose from luxurious mobile homes or spacious tents – all of which are fully equipped with bathrooms, kitchens and utensils, comfy beds and a host of useful extras.

Entertainment programmes are organised on many of Suncamp Holidays’ sites during high season. You’ll find activities such as discos, cabaret, bingo, boules and films, with plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Some sites also have kids’ clubs and crèches, but do check before booking.

You’ll also find a huge range of onsite facilities. All sites have a pool or are next door to a beach, meaning that water babies are well catered for! Union Lido
Set in beautiful surroundings near to the magical Italian city of Venice, Union Lido is a must for water lovers! There are two enormous water parks complete with pools, lazy rivers, waterslides and Jacuzzis galore. There’s also a private beach, a gorgeous nature park with walking paths and a sports park and a play-paradise for children.

Vendrell Platja
Located on the Spanish coast between Barcelona and Tarragona, this lovely site is only 50 metres from a gorgeous sandy beach. You can try your hand at various water sports such as surfing, diving and sailing or take a dip in the swimming pool with a waterslide for the kids. There also a great range of entertainment and sports tournaments to join in with.

El Delfin Verde
This large and popular site is located on the Costa Brava in Spain, with direct access to an extensive beach. There is a huge swimming pool, shaped like a dolphin with a large shallow area for younger children. You’ll find a big range of entertainment in high season with disco evenings, parties, excursions and sports tournaments.

Vilanova Park
Set on the Spanish coast between Barcelona and Tarragona, this beautifully landscaped site is full of Mediterranean plants and flowers, with large spacious pitches. There are two large outdoor pools, an indoor pool with bubble and massage baths and a wellness centre with sauna and solarium. Kids will love the bouncy castle and mini golf and there’s even a small children’s’ animal park.

Valkanela
This peaceful Croatian campsite is located in a beautiful bay between Vrsar and Funtana. There’s a new swimming pool complex where you can try a variety of water sports, or try your hand at tennis, table tennis, mini golf or beach volleyball. There’s a great entertainment programme and a large selection of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants

Bella Italia
This Italian campsite is set on the shores of the beautiful Lake Garda, with stunning pebble beaches close to the site. You can try your hand at swimming, sailing or water skiing or spend your time by the wonderful pool complex – complete with several pools, impressive water slides and a real sandy beach. Make sure you enjoy a meal on the restaurant terrace, with its lovely views of the lake.

What does ‘fully equipped accommodation’ mean?
All Suncamp accommodation is self-catering, so your kitchen will have essential utensils and crockery for cooking. Bed linen packs are available to hire at all campsites but pre-booking is essential.

Is the Suncamp Holidays accommodation wheelchair friendly?
Suncamp Holidays offer wheelchair friendly accommodation at many of their sites, but please check when booking..

Are plug sockets at Suncamp British or European?
There can be a mixture of plug sockets, so we recommend you take some plug adapters. These can be purchases at airports, ports and in some supermarkets and chemists.

What travel documents do I need?
British and Irish citizens are required to have a full (10 year) passport to travel abroad. Application forms are available from the Passport Office, the post office or from the Garda (in Ireland). If you are applying for a passport for the first time, you should do this at least six weeks before your holiday.

Health Cards
A European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) entitles you to reduced-cost medical treatment that becomes necessary while you’re in a European Economic Area (EEA) country or Switzerland. This is not a substitute for travel insurance. Information on the EHIC is available at http://www.ehic.org.uk or from your local Department of Health office. You can apply for an EHIC online or by phone on 0300 3301350.

What are the check-in and checkout times for Suncamp campsites?
You should plan to arrive between 4pm and 7pm, although your travel documents will indicate what time you can arrive from. Check out is usually between 8am and 10am.

How do I get to the Suncamp campsites?
Many people choose to drive to campsites on the continent, and you can cross the English Channel either by ferry or on the Euro Tunnel train. Alternatively, you could fly to your destination and then hire a car to travel to your chosen campsite.

I want to take my own car abroad – what preparations do I need to make?
Let your car insurance know that you’re travelling abroad and perform any maintenance checks needed (check tyre tread and pressure, top up oil and water etc.). You will need to buy a headlight adaptor kit to drive on the Continent – these stick over part of your headlight to avoid blinding other drivers when you’re driving on the right. It is compulsory to carry a warning triangle if you are driving in Europe in case of a breakdown or accident. This must be placed 30 metres from the car to warn oncoming traffic. In Spain you also need to place a triangle in front of the car. Hi-vis jackets for all car occupants are legally required in France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, It is also compulsory to carry a breathalyzer kit in France, and single use kits can be bought at ports.
